Project Introduction
As a challenge to myself, I decided to submit a design to the famous css zen garden This site is all about encouraging graphic designers to embrace web standards and create beautiful websites using xhtml and css. My submission wasn’t accepted, but it was a good learning excercise for me. Only a few of the very best designs submitted from across the globe are chosen each month, and it is the dream of many web designers to have a design featured. Click the image below to see my design. With a modern browser such as Firefox, you should find that the site reacts to the position of your mouse. Unfortunately Internet Exporer 6 provides a much duller experience (due to limited support for the latest international web standards)..
My Role
Design and development of the entire Web Site. However the content is from the CSS Zengarden
Development Method
I was inspired at the time by the look of the Sony Erricsson M600 cell phone. I liked the dark design with light blue highlights and tried to incorporate this colour scheme into my designs. This design is a liquid design and the central content section scales to match the size of the browser window
Project Special Features
- Many areas of the page will respond to the position of your mouse, giving the site an ‘living’ feel.
- Only CSS used for styling. There are no changes to the original HTML file used for all CSS ZenGarden designs.
